The Edo state chapter of the people’s Democratic party PDP has congratulated the emerged winners of the just concluded supplementary election in the state which signaled the end of electoral process in the state.
The supplementary election saw PDP winning the 3 contested seats as announced by the election umpire, independent electoral commission INEC thus giving the party 15 out of the 24 seats in the house..
The party congratulatory message was signed by the Edo state chairman of the party, Dr Tony Aziegbeni, and was made available to newsmen said, “let us thank God for our state and our people that the just concluded election process was peaceful in our state. Some States had unholy tales to tell but here, it was a story of one big family of Edo people. Our Governor, Godwin Obaseki was instrumental in this feat.
” I am by this note congratulating all those who have been elected to various positions on the platform of our great party, PDP. You all deserve your hard-earned victories. You are enjoined to reach out to your fellow contestants.
“I also want to appreciate all our party members and other supporters who may not be card-carrying members of our party for their support and good conduct throughout the process of the election.
” Now that election is over, it is time for more serious work aimed at making our state, Edo great again.
Dr Aziegbeni further said “I can assure you that our governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki will continue to provide the much-needed leadership.
“I am also calling on all the citizens of Edo state to team up with the government in its drive to create better opportunities for us today and our generations to come. The government needs our support to achieve more. As a people, we should give all our support.
To members of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) in Edo state, Chairman Tony Aziegbeni said “It is time for all of us to close ranks and queue behind the leadership of our amiable governor, so that we can, among other things, work to bring the much-needed dividends of democracy to our people and also grow our party for the future.
