Shaibu withdraws suit against Obaseki,others

The Edo state Deputy governor, comrade Philip shaibu has withdrawn the court suit filed at a federal high court in Abuja to stop his principal, Edo state Governor, Mr Godwin obaseki from impeaching him.

The withdrawal of suit was contained in a letter personally signed by him and sighted by BorderlineNews24.

According to the letter, Shaibu claimed his withdrawal was arrived at through the intervention of traditional rulers,eminent personalities including the Archbishop of Benin dioceses, Augustine Akubueze in a series of meetings where the governor and himself were present.

The letter read thus;

  1. State Security Service
  2. The Governor of Edo State
  3. The Chief Judge of Edo State

“Arising from the series of meetings held with Me and also with Mr Governor. Governor by well meaning Edolites and indeed Nigerians including party leaders, traditional rulers, and my Archbishop, Most, Dr. Augustine Akubueze, the Archbishop of Benin Archdiocese on the issue that led to my going on the above-named suit and with due respect to these eminent personalities and leaders whose persuasions and persons I cannot ignore, I, Rt. Hon. Comrade Phillip Shaibu have authorized and instructed my solicitors to withdraw the suit forthwith.

“I wish to sincerely thank and appreciate these well meaning leaders and traditional rulers and my Archbishop,Most, Dr. Augustine Akubueze for their kind words, advise and encouragement thus far in ensuring peace and unity in our dear state, Edo. I also wish to place on record my special thanks to Mr. Governor, my boss and my senior brother for this part of peace”.
