Okpebholo defeats Presidency anointed Candidate , Dennis Idahosa

The Senator representing Edo central district at the National Assembly, Hon Monday Okpebholo has emerged as the All Progressive Congress APC governorship candidate ahead of the September 21 election in the state.

The Governor of Cross River State, Senator Bassey Otu, who was the Chairman of Edo APC’s shadow poll declared Senator Okpebholo winner having polled 12,433 votes to defeat the representative of Ovia constituency in the House of Representatives, Dennis Idahosa, who scored 6,541 votes.

Hon Okpebholo victory over the alleged annoited candidate of the presidency, Hon Dennis Idahosa as pronounced by the former governor comrade Adams oshiomhole at several fora still remains mystery to political pundits.

The collation and declaration took place this morning at Lushville Hotel and Suites, Gapiona Avenue, Government Reservation Area (GRA), Benin.

Okpebholo polled 12,433 votes to defeat the representative of Ovia constituency in the House of Representatives, Dennis Idahosa, who scored 6,541 votes.

Recall, the first poll conducted on Saturday 17 February by governor Uzodima of Imo state who
was declared inconclusive where three aspirants claimed victory.

The APC National working Committee later cancelled the primaries and ordered a fresh poll, which now produced Senator Monday Okpebholo, who represents Edo Central Senatorial zone.
