The Benin monarch, His Royal Majesty, Omo N’Oba Ewuare II has expressed confidence on the services of Nigeria postal service, saying its viability cannot be over emphasized
The Oba made known when he received the first female director of the Nigeria Postal Institute, Mrs Salome Irowa at his palace in Benin City, Edo state capital
The Royal father who described the services of Nigeria postal service as vibrant, urged the federal government to encourage the agency for optimum service delivery to the country
Omo N’Oba Ewuare II further plegde palace support for the director of Nigeria postal institute to succeed in office
Earlier on her part, the director of Nigeria Postal Institute, Egor, Mrs Salome Irowa, told the monarch that having assumed duties as first female director of the institute, since July this year, it’s imperative to seek royal blessings and prayers as well as support in order to excell in her duties
According to Mrs Irowa, the long peace the institute enjoyed in Benin was as a result of the Monarch’s excellent rulership
She said as home of culture and tradition in Africa, the director called on the monarch to partner with NIPOST for the issuance of commemorative stamp that would help promote the rich cultural heritage of Benin kingdom
Highlight of the event was a presentation of stamp compendium from 1914 to 2014 to the monarch by the director.
