The honorable member representing Owan federal constituency at the House of Representatives, Hon Julius Ihonvere has emerged the Leader of the house.
The Speaker of the house, Hon Tajudeen Abbas made the announcement at the hallowed chamber during plenary.
He became a member of the house in 2019 on the platform of the All Progressive Congress, APC and recently reelected on same party platform.
He was the chairman of the house committee on basic education during his first tenure.
Ihonvere emergence makes him the second legislator to emerged as leader of the house in 2007-2011 taking the footsteps of Hon Tunde Akogun, who represented Akoko Edo federal constituency at the house for two consecutive term.2003- 2011.
Other principal officers of the houseannounced by the Speaker are Halims Abdullahi as Deputy Majority Leader while the Chief Whip is Bello Kumo and Deputy Chief Whip is Adewumi Onanuga, the only female among the National Assembly leaders.
