The impeached former Edo State deputy governor, Hon. Philip Shaibu, has allegedly transformed his previous campaign headquarters into an APC outlet to support the governorship aspirations of Sen. Monday Okpevbolo and his running mate, Hon. Dennis Idahosa.
Passersby who regularly use the popular Airport Road, where the Shaibu Secretariat is located before his unsuccessful governorship bid within the ruling Edo PDP, were surprised over the weekend to find the place adorned with the posters Sen Okpevbolo and Hon Dennis Idahosa.
The secretariat was established during the heat of the PDP governorship primaries to act as a clearing house for his scuttled ambition to succeed his principal, Gov. Godwin Obaseki.
In recent times, the impeached deputy has been seen associating with the opposition APC at the federal level. He was recently in Abuja attending a state function hosted for President Tinubu by the FCT minister, Mr Nyesom Wike.
At the event, he praised President Tinubu, but this action did not go unnoticed by some section of Edolites who felt he was seeking for undue relevance.
Following his impeachment in the state assembly, Hon. Shaibu was replaced by another Edo North politician from the Ako .mmmEdo axis.
