By DADA AYOKHAI

The roads leading to Uzanu, Etsako East council area have suddenly become a popular route to many Edo North citizens irrespective of party affiliation as they make their way to the country home of Prince Clem Agba, the Minister of State for Budget and National Planning.

The palatial country home of the minister in Uzanu, itself an architectural masterpiece with its well-paved lawns and gardens, provides a serene and convivial environment for merriment with one’s kinsmen and political associates while also rubbing minds on salient issues affecting the community.

Since he relocated from the hustle and bustle of the seat of power in Abuja to his country home to spend the yuletide with his people, Prince Agba has played host to a coterie of guests, most of them of the All Progressives Congress , APC, . His Uzanu country home is a beehive and also a “political Mecca” to the endless group of guests who have continued to stream in and out of the place for various reasons ranging from social, religious, political, and community.

Ordinarily, Prince Agba, a very homely person, may also be cashing in on the long stream of visitors to reach out politically to those that matter most ahead of the 2023 general election.

An insider who has kept a close tab on the long list of visitors and guests coming and going out of the minister’s home in Uzanu boasted that both the low and the mighty have visited during the yuletide

Amongst the dignitaries in uzanu to honor the minister is Hon Abubakar Momoh, a former lawmaker and a two-time House of Reps member; Engr Saliu Ahmed, the managing director of the Benin-Owena River Basin Development Authority, BORDA, who was recently honoured by the Olokpe of Okpe kingdom for his invaluable contributions to the community, Hon Sunday Anamero a.k.a Danco, the APC House of Reps candidate for Etsako federal constituency, Hon Emma Momoh, former Chairman Etsako Central LGA.

The gatherings in Uzanu was not for speech-making rather mainly informal spiced with a lot of merriment and banters.
The talks in the town indicate many Uzanu indigenes are proud of Prince Agba and would have loved to show him love assuming he was on the ballot. Unfortunately, he is not contesting for any elective position in the 2023 elections.

Though unofficially, Prince Agba is not on the ballot, his Uzanu people have, however, pledged to support any political party he belongs to.

Strangely, Uzanu, Prince Agba’s village and Igiode, the neighbouring village of Senator Francis Alimikhena, the incumbent senator representing Edo north district who is seeking a third term in the Senate on the PDP platform belongs to the same political Ward .
