He made the admonition in his special Easter message to the Christian faithful to commemorate Good Friday which precedes the Easter celebration.

In the Easter message, released and signed by his Personal Assistant, mr Irowa Adolf, Pastor Azena averred that Good Friday is supposed to be seen as a day of introspection and repentance as well as the expression of gratitude for the ultimate sacrifice Jesus Christ made on the cross for the redemption of mankind.

He further added it is a time for the adherents to renew their faith in God and to also recommit themselves to acts of compassion and service to others.

He said, “As we reflect on the events of Good Friday, let us take the opportunity to consider the numerous challenges we face as a people and a country knowing also that Jesus suffered and died for us.

“We must be willing to make sacrifices as well and work in unison to build a progressive and prosperous state and country for ourselves and the unborn generations”.

Dr. Azena urged the Christians to use the occasion of Easter to reflect on the values of love, unity, and sacrifice which Christ Himself exemplified, adding we must learn to sink our differences and unite as a people to create a much better society and humanity
