Oshiomole’s Senatorial ambition at risk over defection of Lucky James, others to PDP


The Senatorial ambition of the former comrade governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomole, may hit the rocks over planned defection of his political allies and loyalists to PDP.

The recent resignation of Chief Lucky James, a well-known political ally of the former comrade governor, has sent shock waves in the Edo North APC, with speculations rife of the departure of other big wigs of the party including ward chairmen and others who have pent up grievances against the former APC National chairman.

Sources privy to the political undercurrents which is playing out in the Edo North chapter of the APC said the planned mass defection will be like a political tsunami by the time it is executed.

Before now, the Oshiomole’s ambition was considered a done deal which does not requires any form of stressful political campaign.

it is gathered that the bulk of his foot soldiers and core loyalists are ready to defect.

In recent times, the former comrade governor has been extremely busy appearing on national television to promote the presidential ambition of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu while also intensifying his lobby for the headship of the APC Presidential Campaign Council.

In his resignation letter to the party, Chief Lucky James, a former Etsako West council chairman and a core Oshiomole loyalist, pointedly said the party has derailed and has lost touch with some of his core mandate, while also complaining of injustice and the lack of an appropriate reward system

Ironically, Chief James hails from Uzairue clan in Etsako West local government area as Comrade Oshiomole.

The former commissioner and LGA chairman in Etsako west in a recent chat with journalists in Benin said his resignation and concluded defection to PDP was not due to the defection of Senator Francis Alimikhena , whom he was a Director General of campaign organisation,to PDP over denial of the APC senatorial ticket as being speculated.
