Unless the unexpected happened between now and March 18 when the state assembly election is scheduled to hold, the All Progressives Congress (APC) is highly tipped to win the Etsako West constituency 1, Etsako west LGA.

This is because the major opposition party in the state put up an extraordinary performance during the last poll.

The party won four of the wards in Auchi as well as three other wards which make up the Etsako West Constituency 1seat.

Except there is a radical shift in voters preference, the PDP candidate for Etsako Constituency 1, Hon Omorogbe Otse, may as well kiss his bid to represent his constituency a permanent goodbye

From every Indication, the APC candidate, Hussein Lecky is highly favoured to win the seat.

The two contenders, both of Auchi extraction, are first-timers to the electoral contest and can also boast of a rich parentage

Hon Omorogbe Otse Momoh is the daughter of the highly reverend Otaru of Auchi, HRH Alhaji H. A. Momoh, Ikelebe III. She was appointed as a commissioner during the faceoff between Gov Godwin Obaseki and his then political leader, comrade Adams Oshiomole to score a political goal in Auchi community.

The pretty lady will be testing the political waters of Auchi to see if she can succeed in representing Constituency 1 in the Edo state House of Assembly .

Etsako Constituency 1 comprises Auchi, Anwain, Jagbe, and Agbede

Hussein Lecky, on the other hand, is from a notable family in the Auchi kingdom. His father, Dr Mustafa Leecky, a retired civil servant who served as a former federal Commissioner in Independent electoral Commission, INEC in charge of south South.

He also holds a highly respected traditional title of trust, Galadima of Auchi kingdom.

Unfortunately, the PDP to which Hon Otse belongs, lost woefully during the last National Assembly and presidential elections. It was even as worse as she lost her polling unit to the APC.
