The Edo state deputy governor, comrade Philip shaibu have assured the ikabigbo community that the killers of Rev father Christopher odia would be arrested and brought to book.
The deputy governor who is presently acting Governor of the state made the pledge when he paid a condolence visit to the ikabigbo community and to also to ascertain the situation on ground
The .41-year-old Father Christopher was abducted by unknown gunmen at about 6:30 am on Sunday, June 26th and was later killed by his abductors following an exchange of gunfire between a vigilante group of the community and the abductors.
The Acting Governor while addressing key stakeholders of the community and the family of one of the members of the vigilante killed (Yusuf Nurudeen), said that the incident was disheartening, assuring that government will bring to book, the perpetrators who are currently being trailed by security operatives.
” I have received briefs from eyewitnesses in the community. I assured the troubled community that the assailants will be hunted down and they will pay for their crimes.
“I met with the aggrieved youths and called for calm as I embark on visits to the chiefs and leaders of the community.”
