INEC CVR ; Etsako west LGA records highest number of voters in Edo north

Going by the data obtained from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on the ongoing Continuous Voters Registration (CVR) exercise, Etsako West Local government area is said to be leading other local governments in the district by recording the highest number of registrants .

A total of 6,803 new registrants were captured, ranking it at the top among the six local government areas in the Edo North district on the 9th of the excise before the extension of time limit.

INEC has also announced an extension of the CVR exercise across Edo State to ensure maximum voter participation.

Following closely, in terms of the number of voters registered, is Akoko Edo with 5,034 registrants.

The figures for the other six local government areas are as follows: Owan East with 4,978 registrants, Owan West 4212, Etsako East with 4,819 registrants, and Etsako Central with 3,953 registrants.
A grand total of 29,799 registrants so far registered in Edo north district.

In Edo Central district, Esan North East came top with 4947 registrants followed by Esan South-East with 4775 others are Esan central 4414, Esan west 4008 with Igueben coming last with 3686. The district has so far registered a grand total of 21,830 registrants.

On the statewide level, Etsako West came fourth. Oredo local government led with 7,095 registrants, followed by Ovia North East with 6,962, and Ikpoba Okha with 6,873., the last on the chart is Uhumwode with 3223 registrants.
Others are Egor 6076, Orhionmwon with 5362 and Ovia South West 4311.

The Edo South is having a grand total of 39,902 registrants.

Despite the challenges posed by a partial flooding that destroyed some of its gadgets and equipment, INEC remains resolute in continuing the CVR exercise.

The electoral umpire may have decided to extend the ongoing CVR to accommodate more voters and ensure widespread participation in the exercise.

The Edo governorship election will be held in September.

The INEC CVR data would certainly serve as a useful tool for the political parties as they plot the graphs to determine where they stand a good chance of harvesting votes to guarantee their victory
