The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Etsako west local government of Edo north district as a way to demonstrate her preparedness for the 2023 general elections recently inaugurated its Campaign Council with the clear message to ensure that all of the party candidates emerge victorious at the polls.
The Campaign Council is expected to manage the campaign activities of the party in the council area ahead of the 2023 elections.
Hon Henry Duke Tenebe, a stalwart of the party in the local government and also the one in charge of the PDP Election Management Committee set up by the state government, supervised the inauguration which took place at the Shaibu’s Hall in jattu axis of the local government.
Hon Bonvis Oshiobugie, from Auchi axis, a time-tested political war horse and also a chairmanship aspirant of the party in Etsako West was unanimously appointed as the Director General of the campaign council.
In his remarks at the occasion, Hon Tenebe enjoined the Council members to hit the ground immediately with the “people-oriented messages of the party and ensure such messages reach the nooks and crannies of the local government within the shortest possible time.
Similarly, he reminded them of the importance of winning the local government and also urged them to canvass for votes for the party and its candidates in both the state and national assembly elections as well as the presidential standard bearer of the party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
Restating the importance the party attaches to victory at the poll, Hon Tenebe charged the Council members to be more voter-centric in its approach even as it also behooves on it to develop a winning strategy for the 2023 general election.
Interestingly, Etsako West is the administrative and political headquarters of Edo North and also home to the state’s deputy governor, Hon Phillip Shaibu, and the former APC national chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomole.
Comrade Oshiomole, the deputy chairman of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, is also in the race for the Edo North senatorial seat.
In his remarks, the DG of the campaign council said party members have been energized by the leadership of the party in the state and are ready to walk the talk, stating further that it is time for the PDP to reclaim its dominance of Edo North politics.
