Edo NAWOJ felicitates Aisha Bura on emergence as NAWOJ President

The Edo state chapter of
Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ, has felicitated with comrade Aisha Bura on the recent emergence as the National President of the umbrella body of women journalists in Nigeria, NAWOJ.

Comrade Bura emerged as the national president of Nigeria Association of Women Journalists during an election where she defeated the incumbent president, comrade Ladi Bala with 498 to 381 votes.

The election to elects officers of the national body took place during the just concluded 11th Triennial Delegates Conference held at Maryam Babangida Center for Women Development, Abuja on November 25, 2023.

The Edo State NAWOJ chairperson Comrade Adesuwa Ehimuan in a signed message wished the new president a progressive and successful tenure in office.

She also congratulated the Zonal Vice President, South South, Stella Macaulay and Secretary, Eunice Emeyazia who was returned unopposed.

Comrade Ehimuan said she is optimistic that the newly breed leaders of the body will take the association to an enviable height and also have positive impact on women journalists in the country.

The election also witnessed the return of Lilian Okonkwo Ogabu as Deputy National President, National Secretary, Wasilah Ibrahim-ladan, Treasurer, Fatimah Rasheed, Financial secretary, Ifeoma Aka, Assistant Secretary, Aisha Cole and Auditor, Jemilah Abubakar.
