Edo Guber Race; Edo APC chairman sets to indicate Interest

The Edo State chapter chairman of the main opposition political party, the All Progressives Congress, APC, Col. David Imuse (retd) may soon join the growing number of governorship aspirants eyeing the coveted post.

The retired infantry soldier is said to be interested in occupying the Dennis Osadebe Government House and is not sparing any effort in that regard

Ahead of his formal declaration, due to be made public soon, Col. Imuse is reported to have activated the necessary organs and structures to be responsible for driving his campaign once the announcement is made.

The Edo Central, known in the local parlance as Esan, is heavily favoured to produce the next governor of the state at the expiration of the eight years of the Edo South .

The entry of Col. Imuse who hails from Edo Central might be a signal that the APC may have concluded plans to zone the governorship slot to Edo Central.

As of the last count, more than 20 political bigwigs in the district have indicated interest in the race, including the popular rice man, Bar. Mike Imansuagbon

Political pundits posited that Edo central district had been unfairly dealt with and that t zoning the governorship slot to Edo Central will heal the wounds of marginalization visited on the district since the short-lived days of Prof. Osunbor.

The Edo State governorship election is scheduled for next year.
