A prominent manager of men ,Mr. Osaretin Ighile, has joined the list of Governorship aspirants hoping to fly the Labour Party flag at the Edo governorship election scheduled for second quarter of 2024.
Mr. Ighile formally made his intention known during his visit to the party secretariat in Benin City,.
Mr Ikhile who was avoidable absent was represented by Mr. Imafidon Osaretin who said the aspirant is a bonafide member of the party and has always participated in all the party activities .
Mr osarethin while addressing the Party leaders said, “we do not want to create any vacum. That is the reason we are here with our supporters even though our aspirant is presently out of the country”.
Imafidon described Mr Osaretin Ighile as a vibrant, strong and capable person who can fly the party flag and also an advocate of new Edo is possible .
Receiving the representative of the aspirant along with the supporters, the chairman of Edo state labour party , Mr. Kelly Ogbaloi said the the party’s door is open to all .
Ogbaloi disclosed that the party has no prefered candidate, adding that the party was prepared to do the right thing by ensuring a level playing field for all the aspirants.
“The primary will be keenly contested before any candidate can emerge”, he stated.
