Dokpesi to be buried in Agenebode on June 22.

The final rites of passage of the founder of DAAR Communications Ltd., owners of AIT and Raypower Radio, Dr. Raymond Dokpesi, will commence on Thursday, June 22, 2023, at his country home in Agenebode, Etsako East local government area of Edo State

This much is contained in the press statement signed and released by the eldest son of the deceased, Mr. Raymond Dokpesi Jr, on behalf of the Dokpesi family

The news of the death of the pioneer private media mogul hit the airwaves in the evening of May 29, sending shock waves across the country.

Specifically, his death occurred on Monday, May 29, the day set aside for the inauguration of the incoming President Tinubu administration.

Going by the statement, Abuja and his hometown, Agenebode, will host the majority of the activities leading up to the burial of the late Dr. Dokpesi.

This may have been done to give his burial a national appeal as well as allow his numerous friends and associates scattered across the country to pay their last respect to the deceased who during his lifetime was also an active political player.

According to the statement, the burial rites for the deceased commence on Monday, June 19, with the Night of Tributes at the International Conference Center, ICC, Abuja at 4 pm, followed by a Requiem Mass at the Church of Assumption, Abuja on Tuesday, June 20

On Wednesday, June 21, the corpse of the late Dr. Dokpesi begins its homeward journey as it departs the Federal Capital Territory to Agenebode, his hometown, Agenebode, where a Service of Songs Will be held at his Ezomo private residence.

The late Dr. Dokpesi will be interred at his Ezomo private residence on Thursday, June 22, shortly after a Commendation Mass in his honour.

The entertainment of the guests will hold at his Ezomo private residence and also spill over to the St. Peter’s Secondary School, Agenebode at 2 pm.
