Examples abound of the key role played by the media in bolstering the image of political officeholders .
Frankly, the staying power and relevance attained by some political officeholders, even out of office, owes largely to how they were able to manage their reputation and image through the media, while they were in office.
A good example of how to be politically relevant even when out of office is provided by Hon. Afie Braimoh, a former Edo State Commissioner of Business, Trade, and Cooperatives
Months after leaving office, Hon. Braimoh still enjoys huge positive media coverage, and her stellar achievements have become the subject of a media feast. Today, her views are sought-after either as a resource person for many public forums .
Since her departure, however, there has been no dull moment for the affable former commissioner.

Meanwhile, the Institute of Certified Business Consultants (ICBC), the Nigerian chapter, has concluded plans to bestow upon Hon. Braimoh an Award of Excellence based on her stellar performance as a commissioner and to also encourage others to emulate her footsteps. They are waiting on her to confirm acceptance of the award as well as her availability during the investiture
The award is part of the Institute’s sixth induction ceremony scheduled to hold in September.
