Ayu, Atiku abandons PDP for Europe amid crisis

The two arrow head of the Peoples Democratic party (PDP), in Nigeria, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Senator iyorchia Ayu are presently out of the country, abandoning the party to take refugee in Europe.

The embattled chairman of the party, Senator Ayu was the first to leave for Europe on no clear mission at the heat of controversy over calls for his resignation as the party National chairman..

Some of the party governors led by the Rivers state Nyelson Wike, supported by his Oyo state counterpart, Makinde Seyi have on several fora called on the national chairman to step aside and give room for a southerner to lead the party ahead of the 2023 elections.

They are of the views that the party’s chairman and presidential candidate can’t come from the northern region and as such Ayu has to resign to pave way for a southern party chairman.

But despite the controversy Ayu and Atiku jet out of the country amid the unresolved crisis threatening the party’s chances in the forthcoming 2023 presidential election.

On his part, the party presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar in a press statement issued by his Media aide,Paul Ibe said the presidential candidate is traveling to Europe on a business trip and will also have a Stop over in Dubai to meet his family.

Atiku frequent trip to Dubai has becomes a sort of concern to many party stakeholders and other prominent Nigerians who felt his soul is in his Dubai home and only interested in the Presidency of the country for Passion.

Recently, the APC Vice presidential candidate, Kashim Shetima described Atiku as a political tourist who will be retired to stay in Dubai.
