It is glaringly evident that the fire and excitement trailing the recent emergence of Barrister Asue Ighodalo as the PDP standard bearer for the September 21st Guber election is yet to be doused .
Across party divides and even among the non-partisans, the huge euphoria surrounding the victory of Barr Ighodalo at the PDP Guber Primaries held on Thursday, February 22, is palpable and electrifying .
Banking on the success of the primaries and the overwhelming decision of the party delegates to elect Barr. Asue Ighodalo as the PDP standard bearer for the September Guber election, Sen. Yisa Braimoh has congratulated Ighodalo on his landslide victory , saying it is well-deserved .
Sen. Braimoh, who represented the Edo North district in the Senate between 2007 and 2011 , is also the PDP National leader for both Owan East and Owan West LGAs .
In a congratulatory message to Barr. Ighodalo , titled “The Long Awaited Messiah,” which was released to the public , Sen. Yisa Braimoh expressed his profound gratitude to the PDP stakeholders across the state for their collective resolve to breathe fresh life into the PDP ahead of the September 2024 Gubernatorial election.
Beaming confidently that Ighodalo’s emergence as PDP Guber candidate will be further cemented by the results of the September 21st governorship poll , Sen. Braimoh praised Edo PDP leaders & stakeholders for investing their faith in the renowned corporate guru, insisting further that Ighodalo would build on the solid foundation already laid by Gov. Obaseki by taking Edo State to greater heights.
As regards the overriding charter of equity and zoning, which was championed by Edo North PDP Elders Forum ( ENEF) and which significantly paved the path for the emergence of Barr. Ighodalo from the Edo Central district , Sen. Braimoh said the charter has come to stay , maintaining further that Edo State stands on the tripod of North, South, and Central and urged political leaders in the state to adhere strictly to its tenets in the overall interest of justice, peace, stability and progress .
Providing snippets on Barr. Ighodalo’s exciting mixed blend of public and private sector background, Sen. Braimoh, in apparent reference to AI’s intimidating public/private sector experience and achievements in the corporate world , described Barr Ighodalo as ” the long-awaited messiah ” adding that Edo State would be in better hands to continue with the growth trajectory instituted by Gov. Obaseki.
Senator Yisa Braimoh is especially excited with the consistency of Barr Asue Ighodalo in his resolve to transform edo state and its people from poverty to prosperity .
The Owan-born engineer, resource manager , community leader, and philanthropist who is also one of the major pillars behind the success of Barr. Ighodalo at the primaries , further posited that the PDP can now boast of a sellable and winning candidate , come September 2024 .
He concluded by saying that the PDP would sweep the poll in the September elections and, therefore , enjoined members of the party across edo state to close ranks and work for total victory .
