The much-awaited unveiling of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu list of ministers was finally conducted on the floor of the Senate.

The Chief of Staff to the President earlier in the morning handed over the letter containing the names of the ministers to the Senate President.

The ministerial list had been a subject of unending intense debate for days and weeks. Thus, when the list finally reached the hallowed chamber of the Senate, there was butterflies in many stomach as the entire country was eager to know those who made the final cut.

And, indeed, when the list was read out by the Senate President, one of the surprises was the listing of Hon. Abubakar Momoh from the Edo North district as a minister

Like the popular cliche which says that big things come in small packs, nobody gave the Imiegba born civil engineer turned politician any chance of making the ministerial list.

That he made the final cut says a lot about the staying power of the two-term House of Representatives member.

And there are good reasons for the joy in the district that one of their own will represent Edo State in the yet to be inaugurated Federal Executive Council.

The name of Hon. Momoh was initially not among those bandied about but it is gratifying the seasoned politician, also a foundation member of the APC in Edo State and one who started his political career first as a councillor and later became council chairman, state assembly lawmaker and two-term House of Representatives member.

Already, political pundits are convinced about the choice of the President and that the Edo State nominee will make a good minister.
