The Edo state former governor and the All Progressive Congress APC senatorial candidate for Edo north district, comrade Adams oshiomhole, recently suffered a political blow in Auchi with the defection of his two strong loyalist to the peoples Democratic party PDP.
The two loyalist who led their supporters in the defection are Hon Maryam Abubakar and Prince charlaman Mko Momoh.
Hon Maryam Abubakar was former Governor Adams oshiomhole’s commissioner nominee in the Governor Godwin Obaseki’s first tenure in office on the APC banner.
The former commissioner who came into politics after a successful career in the banking industry is noted for her political influence amongst the women folk in Auchi.
She has earlier announced her resignation from the party few weeks back which many see as an indication that all is not well between her and comrade Oshiomhole.
Hon Abubakar got relived of her appointment as commissioner during the political imbroglio between oshiomole and Obaseki and was quickly replaced with a fellow Auchi woman who is the daughter of the otaru of Auchi, Princess,otse Momoh.
The other lead defector, Mko Momoh is also a political grassroot mobilizer in Auchi political arena.
The benefiary of the defection, the Edo state deputy governor, comrade Philip shaibu who is in battle with his former mentor, Adams oshiomole, for the control of Edo north district warmly received the decampees at the government house in Benin.
Auchi the headquarters of Etsako west LGA is a stronghold of APC since inception of oshiomole in politics.
