In a rare display of affection and appreciation, critical stakeholders in the Oredo West Constituency hailed the sterling performance of the hon member representing the constituency at the Edo state House of Assembly, Dr Richard Edosa describing him as “second to none” and also urged him not to “rest on his oars” but to ensure he continued on the good path he has chosen .
The outpouring of accolades on the bubbly and charming lawmaker is a testimony that he has, indeed, been touching lives positively in his political domain.
The well-attended maiden town hall meeting, held at the Youth House in the bustling city of Benin was graced by
the LP leaders, transport union officials, Traders and others
Taking turns to extol and embellish Hon. Edosa’s virtue, the various speakers also touched on his legislative performance before summing it all up with an absolute vote of confidence in his representation.and ability to deliver
The Chairman of Labour Party, LP, in Oredo local government, Comrade Enomayo Adewunmi led the pack as he described the lawmaker as a “worthy ambassador” of the party, adding that the lawmaker has surpasses expectations with his barely 9 months in office of the expected four years.
Incidentally, Hon. Edosa is the sole LP member in the 24-member assembly.
That has not, however, prevented him from striking a delicate balance between being the only LP member in a PDP-dominated state and carrying out his legislative duties which include ensuring his Oredo people are not completely schemed out in the governance process.
Responding to the avalanche of praises heaped on him, Hon. Edosa thanked them for the honour of serving the people and reminded them as well that the singular purpose for the town hall gathering was to brainstorm on how best to make the Oredo a better place for everyone not minding which political party each person may profess .
According to him, he is aware of the political colouration of the 11 political wards that make up the Oredo West Constituency, but he still does not let that influence his dealings with the people as well as the spread of his constituency projects, adding he sees every Oredo indigene as one irrespective of what their political affiliation may be.
The high point of the event was the disbursement of interest-free revolving loans to traders and artisans to support their businesses,
The list of feats achieved by the lawmaker that really endeared him to the people include the free eye and hernia surgery, procurement of JAMB forms, scholarship awards to deserving students, including the physically challenged, youth employment and empowerment and the enrollment of his constituents in the national insurance scheme.
Others include supporting the bills at the hallowed chamber which makes possible the building of health center and reconstruction of roads in the constituency.
He also supported the bill for the establishment of the state school of Nursing and others.
