‎OMOIKE RECEIVES CERTIFICATE OF RETURN FOR ETSAKO WEST LGA

‎The Edo State Independent Electoral Commission (EDSIEC)* has presented Certificates of Return to newly elected Local Government Chairmen and Councillors at a ceremony presided over by the  Chairman, Edo State Independent Electoral Commission,

‎EDSIEC, Mr. Jonathan Aifuobhokhan,

‎Among the recipients was Hon. Romeo Aloaye Omoike, Chairman-Elect of Etsako West Local Government Area the most populated LGA in Edo North Senatorial District.


‎Hon. Omoike, who hails from the Uzairue Clan  polled a total of 168,448 votes  to emerge winner of the election.


‎He was presented with his certificate alongside his Vice  Hon. Tijani ISA


‎Also in attendance were the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo , Hon  Yakubu Oshiorenha ,other kinsmen, party leaders and a retinue of supporters.


‎Presenting the certificates at the Commission’s headquarters in Benin City, Mr. Aifuobhokhan said the exercise marked the successful conclusion of the 2026 local government elections.


‎He congratulated all candidates who participated, especially those declared winners, and urged them to serve the people with honesty, fairness and accountability.


‎“The Certificate of Return is more than an official document. It is a mandate given to you by the people of your respective local government areas.


‎Public office is a sacred trust. Lead with integrity, humility and fairness, and always work for the good of the people,” he said.


‎The EDSIEC Chairman further charged the elected officials to focus on grassroots development that will improve the lives of the people.


‎Speaking to journalists after receiving his certificate, Hon. Omoike said: _”To whom much is given, much is expected. I will ensure people-oriented projects in line with Governor Senator Monday Okpebholo’s SHINE Agenda.”_


‎Hon. Omoike is an accomplished politician who has been tested and trusted by the people, having previously served as *Senior Special Assistant to the State former Governor,


‎He is a product of Benson Idahosa University, where he holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Political Science and Public Administration.
