The hope of resolving and uniting the Edo state chapter of the People’s Democratic party, PDP, ahead of the 2023 elections in the state appeared dim with the alleged loopsided composition of the campaign council.
The Edo state Governor, , Mr. Godwin Obaseki, recently inaugurated the Edo State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Campaign Management Council for the 2023 general elections.
The inauguration took place at the newly commissioned Presidential campaign headquarters
The composition of the campaign council saw the Obaseki’s henchmen taking over the body.
According to some of the PDP leaders, all the members of the management of the campaign council are all Obaseki henchmen who defected with him to the PDP.
The Council is made up of nine deputy directors heading nine directorates namely: Media & Publicity, Field Operations, Election Management, Research and Strategy, Finance, Volunteer Groups, Security, Religious and Cultural Engagement as well as Documentation and Reporting
The Director General of the counci, Chief Osaro Idah as Director General.
Member of the Edo State Campaign Management Council as Inaugurated are ,Timothy Osadolor, Henry Duke Tenebe, Isaiah Osifo, Joe Okojie, Susan Otekpen,Gen.Airende,Oribhabor, Paul Oyakhilome and , Victor Enoghama.
Obaseki, at the inauguration, in Benin City, said the future of the country is dependent on the outcome of the 2023 polls as only the PDP can rescue the nation from its current socioeconomic woes and place it on the path of sustainable growth and development.
The governor said, “This 2023 election will be won by what we do now, not what we do on Election Day. I believe this will be an easy election for us as a party if we campaign.
