Momoh Parley Good luck Jonathan on Niger Delta development

The minister of the Niger Delta development, Hon. Abubakar Momoh, has in his continuation of his shuttle diplomacy to touch base with critical stakeholders in the region to set a new development agenda for the region paid a courtesy call on the country former President,Dr Goodluck Ebelle Jonathan.

Recall, the minister’s made similar visit to a leader in the region, chief Edwin Clark .

He was accompanied on the visit by other eminent Niger Delta personalities including a two-term former deputy governor of Edo State, Chief Mike Oghiadomhe

Chief Oghiadomhe also served as the Chief of Staff (CoS) to former President Jonathan.

Hon. Momoh had, immediately on assumption, promised to engage in an extensive consultation with critical Niger Delta stakeholders on the ways to tackle the myriad of problems besetting the region

The minister and his entourage were warmly welcomed by the former President who thanked his August guest for choosing to change the detestable narrative of the region

During the parley, the former President was said to have generously shared some of his personal and insights on how to tackle the Niger Delta menace as well as how the minister can effectively navigate his new role.

Commenting on the success of the visit on his Facebook page, the minister said that, “We deliberated on strategies to combat the issue of oil theft, enhancing infrastructure and generating employment opportunities for the army of vibrant Niger Delta youth population

He added,” I deeply appreciate the wisdom and generousity of His Excellency, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan. He is truly a patriot genuinely concerned about the progress and posterity of the country. He shared with us his perspectives on the Niger Delta conundrum”

He further stressed that he is hopeful of tapping into the former President’s vast knowledge for the greater benefit of the region
