LGAs Election: Labour Party kicks off campaign in Oredo

The Labour Party, LP, Chairmanship candidate in the scheduled LGAs election for Oredo LGA, Mr Onaghise Osaretin Daniel-Ero, has kick-started his ward-to-ward campaign to get a first-hand feel of the pulse of the people as well as woo potential voters.

Onaghise Daniel-Ero who is leading the party campaign , which is fast making in-road and gaining momentum, whilst trying to dislodge the two dominant parties in the state, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP , and the All Progressive Congress, APC.

Onaghise, who kicked-off the ward-to-ward campaign, on a grand scale, with hundreds of their supporters in tow, most of them decked in the colourfully branded Labour Part t-shirts and other party apparel moved from Ward 6 in Oredo West, the take-off point, and proceeded in a long and large stretch of the human convoy to ward 5, making a stop at oliha and Ekiuwa markets, and environs.

The PDP and the APC enjoyed massive support among the voting public, but the Labour Party, considered as the rave of the moment, is fast gaining ground and recording new converts that brings verve and new direction to the campaign.

In his speech the chairmanship candidate promised to reposition the local government if elected as chairman of the local government in the September 2nd election.

In his message to ward 5 visited,Onaghise promised to ensure the youths are able to create their own job through youth Empowerment by trainings,and putting them into business that would be self sufficient.

The party chairmanship candidate further told the enthusiastic crowd about his programme on primary healthcare delivery which he said will top his agenda for the people of Oredo.

While speaking on women inclusivity in governance,the candidate said that’s one of the reasons he picked a female as vice.believing she has a lot to offer on women empowerment in the council

Also speaking at the rally, the Councilorship Candidate for Oredo ward 5, Osakpolor Steve Omobude said he would take governance back to the grassroot and it’s basis inorder for the common persons on the street benefit from his agenda.

Ben J Omordon councilorship candidate for Oredo ward 2 described the Chairmanship candidate as a vibrant young man who is energetic, vision driven and has clear understanding of what he wants.

He further stated that when elected as a Councilor in Oredo ward 2 he would make sure the ward becomes a local government legislation area,and believes he would work with the LGA Chairmanship to achieve it.

Mr Ebida Torlowei David councilorship candidate Oredo ward 6 while speaking, promised initiating massive youth empowerment.

He further said come September 2nd Labour party is fully prepared for the Council election. He thereafter encouraged all youth to come out enmass to vote Labour Party.
