A leading paint manufacturer in the country, Intercontinental Paint has expanded its territorial and market reach with the opening of its South-South regional office in Benin, the Edo State capital
The commissioning ceremony and exhibition of the Intercontinental Paints was chaired by the former Executive governor of Edo State, Chief Lucky Igbinedion.
The top echelon of the Edo society, including industrialists, religious leaders, and others such as Rev Wale Ajayi, the resident Pastor of the Church of God Mission, Benin, graced the ceremony
Chief Igbinedion, in his remarks at the opening ceremony, commended the Managing Director of the company, for his vision and also appealed to the state government not to relent in its efforts in providing an enabling environment for local and corporate businesses to thrive.
Earlier, the Managing Director of Intercontinental Paints Ltd., Mr Aigbe Omoregbe, singled out the duo of Chief Igbinedion and Chief John Adun, a well-known Benin-based transporter, for their unflinching support .
He recalled how the company was able to weather the economic crunch to the path of sustainable growth, adding the choice of Benin as the regional headquarter for the South-South geo-political zone was deliberate based on his affection for his state of origin Edo state,.
Tracing the trajectory of the company to its present status, he noted that the vision to set up the company came in 2006, immediately after school, with a capital base of N18, 000, maintaining the actual breakthrough came six months later when Chief Adun bought paints worth several millions of naira.

The highlights of the ceremony was the conferment of award to the duo of the former governor, Chief Igbinedion’ and the popular transporter, chief John Adun for being supportive to the growth of the company.
