The Chairman-elect of Etsako West Local Government Area, Hon. Romeo Omoike, has visited the nation’s capital, Abuja, to express appreciation to leaders of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the local government under whose platform he contested and won the election.
Hon. Omoike, who hails from the Uzairue clan, and Hon. Tijani Isa from the Agbede axis, contested and won the chairmanship and vice chairmanship seats on the platform of the APC.
As part of the appreciation tour, Hon. Omoike was in the nation’s capital, Abuja, where he met with top party stakeholders.
Among those he met was Senator Adams Oshiomhole, APC apex leader and Senator representing Edo North Senatorial District, who is also a former Governor of Edo State.
The Chairman-elect also paid courtesy visits to the former Deputy Governor of Edo State, Hon. Philip Shaibu, who is now the Director-General of the National Institute for Sports, NIS, and the Minister of Regional Development, Hon. Abubakar Momoh.
Although no official statement was issued after the meetings, it was gathered that Hon. Omoike expressed gratitude for the support of the leaders before and during the election.
Sources said the leaders, in turn, urged him to focus on good governance and grassroots empowerment.
Earlier, before the Abuja trip, Hon. Omoike met with Hon. Oshiorenua Musa, Chief of Staff to the Edo State Governor, and Hon. Jarrett Tenebe, Edo State Chairman of the APC.
During the meeting, he presented his Certificate of Return to them in appreciation of their support during the electoral exercise.
It was gathered that the visits were to seek guidance and to reaffirm their commitment to the party and to the development agenda of the Governor Monday Okpebholo administration under the SHINE Agenda.
The Vice Chairman-elect, Hon. Tijani Isa, on his part of the appreciation tour visited Hon. Gani Audu, a former Chairman of Etsako West LGA, who was a former Chief of Staff to the Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo.
He also visited Hon. Andrew Momodu, the State Commissioner for Oil and Gas.
