Eid Maulud: Shaibu calls for religious tolerance, peaceful Co_existence

Edo state deputy governor, comrade Philip shaibu has called on Muslims in the state to use the celebration of the Eid El Maulud to promote religious tolerance and peaceful co-existence.

The deputy governor statement was made available to journalists by his aide, Mr. Razak Zekeri.

The Eid El Maulud is celebrated all over the world by Muslims faithful to mark the birth of prophet Mohammed.

In commemoration of the day, the federal government declared Wednesday as a public holiday.

According to the statement , the deputy governor said the Edo state government will continue to promote religious tolerance among citizens of the state.

He advised Muslim faithfuls to imbibed the virtues of love, peace, communal living and honesty which were the qualities of Prophet Mohammed.

The deputy governor, while wishing Muslim faithfuls a wonderful Eid El Maulud also urged them to be faithful to the government and good people of Edo State .

He expressed appreciation to the traditional rulers and the religious leaders in the State
