As the country awaits the public unveiling of the cabinet of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu with baited expectations, in order to decipher the calibre and competence of the men and women to help him run the country effortlessly, indications have emerged that the next minister to represent Edo State might come from the Edo North district of the state

Reliable sources familiar with the intrigues and intense horse trading associated with the process of the ministerial nominations at the back-end, told the Borderline News24 that a name has been forwarded to the Presidency for the necessary security scrutiny and clearance

The highly placed source further added that the favoured candidate is from the Etsako clan of the district

It was further disclosed that one of the factors that seem to have worked in the favour of the district over and above the others was the number of votes the APC harvested in the district during the last general elections.

The Edo North district was the only district where the opposition APC garnered sufficient votes in both the February 25 and March 18 presidential, national, and state assembly elections.

The votes the APC presidential candidate, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu secured the highest votes in Edo North district during the Presidential election .

The Edo South district lost out in the contest because it produced a minister under the Buhari administration for eight years

As for Edo Central, the district has its focus on producing the next governor of the state and was consequently eliminated to enable the district to concentrate on the work at hand.

In all, the former comrade governor, and now senator, Comrade Adams Oshiomole, played a major role in the emergence of the ministerial nominee.

As the leader of the APC in the state, the onus was on him to convene an enlarged stakeholders meeting where the decision on the nominee as well as which part of the district it should be zoned to was taken and ratified
