Edo NLC chairman attends PDP rally in Uyo

The chairman of Nigeria Labour congress, NLC, Edo state chapter, Chief Odion Olaye was among the dignitaries that accompanied the Edo state Governor , Mr Godwin Obaseki to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) presidential flag off that took place in Uyo, the Akwa ibom state capital.

The PDP on Monday in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state capital formally flagoff her presidential campaign.

The highly rated ceremony,however saw five governors of the party led by the Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike conspicuously absent from the rally.

The presence of the Edo state NLC chairman at the PDP rally runs contrary to the words of assurance given by the National President of Nigeria labour congress NLC, Mr Ayuba Wabara that the labour body will support the candidacy of Mr Peter Obi, the Labour party presidential candidate.

Chief Olaye is a card carrying member of the PDP and also the leader of the party in Egor LGA .

He is the state Chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers Union, as well as the NLC state chairman following the death of the substantive chairman of the body late Sunny Osayande .

It is yet to be ascertained if the national body of the union will apply sanction on chief Olaye for going against the stand of the body on whom to support.
