Journalists in Edo state under the auspices of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Edo State Council has expressed appreciation to the state governor Mr Godwin Obaseki for his support to Members.
The appreciation was made by comrade festus Alenkhe, chairman of the state chapter of the Nigerian Union of Journalists while receiving the governor at the union secretariat in Benin.
Comrade Alenkhe also solicit the Governor continuous and sustained support for the union.
Earlier , Governor Obaseki told the gathering of journalists that his visit to the Press Centre was mainly to hang out with them and also solicit for their continuous support to the state government.
The governor further disclosed that the visit to the union’s secretariat was a way to strengthen the bond between the state government and the journalists in the state.
He lauded the union’s leadership giant strides and the sanity introduced into the journalism practice by the present executive.
According to the Governor, the vision of the Comrade Festus Alenkhe’s led state NUJ in the area of physical development is a reflection of Make Edo Great Again (MEGA) agenda of the present Edo state government.
He assured journalists that his administration would continue to identify with the union at all times.
During the visit, the Governor promised to provide the union a Coaster Bus and also an installation of internet facility to the Press Centre, using the state government installed fibre.
Highpoint of the visit was the presentation of a compendium of qualified members of the Edo State Council of the union.
The governor similarly took a guided tour of the Press Centre .
