The Edo State chapter of National Association of Auctioneers has inaugurated a new Executive officers to pilot the affairs of the association for the next four years.
Speaking at the event which was held at the Central Hotel in Benin City, the Edo State capital recently, the Chairman, Board Of Trustee of the association, Alhaji Sule Musa, admonished the newly elected Chairman and his exco to remain focused and diligent in the discharge of their duties, .
He stressed that the Auctioneering business has been in existence for almost 70 years, adding that the body is purely for business of enabling the governments at the federal, state and local government to enhanced internal generated revenue through auctioning of disposable items.
Alhaji Musa clarified that the association is devoid of tribal, religious nor cults affiliation.
He further advised the new EXCO to continually educate the government functionaries they interface with on the laws and principles guiding the Auctioneering business.
According to him ,he has no doubt in the ability of the new EXCO to pilot the affairs of the association, stressing that the newly elected Chairman and his men are people of proven track records of integrity and transparent honesty hence advice them to continue y be a good ambassadors of the association.
In his address, the National Secretary of the association, Engineer Isibor Abhulimen, on behalf of the national President, Alhaji Aliyu Kiliya, commended the out- going Executives for diligently piloting the affairs of the association for 3years and also for supporting the government at all levels in boosting and enhancing the internally generated revenue.
Engineer Abhulimen said,” I must Commend the out- going Exco for a job well done for piloting the affairs of the association and also for electing credible people to lead the association”
In his remarks, the Edo State commissioner of Police represented by the DCP, Mr Dahiru Muhammed, congratulated the newly elected Chairman and other elected officers of the association.
He said,” I bring you greetings from the Edo State Commissioner of Police, CP Abutu Yaro. I want to use the opportunity to congratulate the newly elected Chairman, Elder Anthony Orukpe Ebhoteme, whom I have known for a long time now, to be a perfect gentleman, a transparent, accountable and honest man to the core, a man you can count on and I want to say that I am sure his tenure will no doubt translate to greater progress for the association.
In his inaugural address, the newly elected Chairman of the association, Elder Anthony Orukpe Ebhoteme, thanked the Edo State governor, His Excellency, Mr Godwin Obaseki, who was represented by Engineer Clement Ogieva, the Director of works at the Edo State Ministry of Works and the Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corp, CC Henry Banamaisia , represented by the Sector Legal officer, SRC Bala Sarki and other guests for finding time to come to rejoice with the the association on the auspicious occasion .
He said, ” haven served all the past association chairmen since1984, I have tapped much experience needed to prepare me for the task of piloting the affairs of the association,”
He further added that, ” I will carry everyone along in the discharge of my constitutional mandates. I am going to be firm but fair to all and I will use my office to unite every member of the association more than ever before and my expectation is that by this time next year, we shall have our own secretariat.”
Other officers inaugurated at the occasion include the Publicity Secretary, Chief Eddy Ogbomon, Nosa Ehijiator as the Assistant Secretary, Major Nwosu, the Auditor amongst others.
