An All Progressive Congress, APC, governorship in the forthcoming Edo State governorship election, Hon Anamero Dekeri,aka Danko has inaugurated a nine-man member committee to carry out the implementation of the 10,000 Free Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE).
The inauguration of the committee which is chaired by Mr Emma iyasere with members drawn across the 3 senatorial district of the state took place at the aspirant party’s secretariat in Benin City,.
Hon Dekeri who is also the hon member representing Etsako federal constituency at the National Assembly in his remarks before the inauguration said the exams is time bound hence the need for a committee to work the modalities on having the vulnerables students registered.
According to him the essence of the free enrolment is to provide educational opportunities to thousands of deserving students who have been unable to access quality secondary education.
Recall, hon Dekeri promised to bankroll the enrolment of 10,0000 candidates for the school certificate exams.
He said the Committee is to ensure that no student is deprived of the opportunity to pursue their dreams due to financial limitations adding that education should be a right and not a privilege reserved for the fortunate few.
The governorship aspirant added that true change comes from within and that it is his responsibility as a compassionate and socially conscious individual, to address the educational inequalities that plague our society by providing 10,000 free enrollments for the SSCE.
While assuring the beneficiaries of the committee’s duty to do what is right, he urged them (the students) to make the most out of the opportunity given to them.
“| am sowing the seeds of hope, igniting a flame of possibility within these young souls and empowering them to shape their own destinies.
“To the students, | say to you that this committee is here to support you every step of the way.
“We believe in your potential, and we want to equip you with the tools necessary to succeed. Education is the key that unlocks the doors of opportunity, and we are committed to providing you with access to the same quality education as your more privileged peers.
“However, it is important to remember that responsibility comes hand-in-hand with privilege.
“To the fortunate students who have been granted this opportunity, I urged you to make the most of it.
“Embrace your education with the fervor of a warrior and the curiosity of a seeker. Strive for excellence, not just for yourselves but also for the benefit of your communities and society as a whole. Let your achievements be a testament to the transformative power of education”, Dekeri said.
He called on the well meaning Nigerians to support the course of ensuring that students who intend to pursue their education but are constrained financially are able to do so.
“As we embark on this journey together, | call upon the wider community to support our cause. Let us stand united in our mission to create a more equitable society where every child has access to quality education.
“From corporate organizations to philanthropists, together we can make a lasting and positive impact on the lives of these deserving students”, Dekeri said.
