The Edo state governor, Mr Godwin Obaseki has lived up to his office as the leader of the Peoples Democratic party PDP in the state with the nomination of his stooges as the party chairmanship candidates ahead of the local government elections scheduled for September 3rd 2023.
The PDP faction in the state loyal to the governor had in a release signed by the party assistant publicity secretary, Dr Friday Ojeboboh fixed May 24, for party primaries to elect party candidates but on the eve of the primaries, a prepared preferred list of candidates endorsed by the governor were already in circulation.
In line with his pre arrangements of candidates, the governor visited the three senatorial district in the state before the party primaries where he told a gathering of party leaders and aspirants to await a list of candidates approved by him on the eve of the party primaries.
He urged other aspirants to step down their ambition for his favorites candidate s in return for compensatory appointments which many tagged as scam.
