From one milestone to another, it is, indeed, befuddling where the Edo State commissioner of Trade, Business, and Cooperatives, Hon Afie Braimoh, derives her never-ending energy for breaking barriers and setting the pace.
Penultimate week, the ever-busy and hard-working commissioner, scored another first when she led top state officials to publicly unveil a product brand designed by a visually impaired,
Edo indigene based in Benin City.
The specially designed beaded products, which go by the brand name, TSG, are the brainchild of Mr. Timothy Otiobosa, a visually impaired product developer
Thus, by the unveiling, the commissioner has set the stage for the product adoption and its eventual display on the shelf by top supermarts across the state and even beyond
The TGS is a collection of uniquely multi-coloured beaded designs crafted with precision and also adaptable to modern lifestyles. It is also available for multiple uses such as bags, key holders, flower bases, and so on.

.The product developer, Mr. Otiobosa must have drawn his inspiration from the array of roles beads play in the ancient Benin culture, either as a top fashion accessory or as decorative ornaments.
An emotional Hon Braimoh, almost moved to tears as she conducted the unveiling, described the product developer, Mr. Otiobosa, as one of the beneficiaries of her ministry’s support for the local MSMEs in such critical areas as branding which encompasses logo and brand name registration
She poured encomiums on the product developer for rising beyond his disability and limitations to create a unique product that will certainly appeal to the generality of the public and also help to promote and sustain the use of our local artifacts
Hon Commissioner. gesture is a fulfilment of her promise made to Mr Otiobosa during the presentation of a certificate of business registration of TGS in the State of Florida.
According to the Commissioner in line with her vision to prepare Made in Edo Products for the global market . said
*Locally made products can compete on the world stage and Timothy’s quality beaded works are no exception. Infact, his products have sold out at the Miami Medweek and Florida Internet Expo where my humble self displayed his products amongst others and attendees simply could not get enough of the quality and beauty of the beaded works.”
, Hon Braimoh assured that the TSG product brand will adorn the shelves of the leading supermarts in the state in strict adherence to the “Made in Edo” policy of the state government, adding her ministry would also take necessary steps to expose the product to the world because of its potentialities
In response, Mr. Otiobosa profusely thanked Hon Braimoh for channeling her ministry’s support in his direction during the incubation stage, saying the product unveiling would not have been possible without the support he received from the honourable commissioner and her team
A team from the ministry, represented by the top echelon, attended the brief product unveiling ceremony.
Also in attendance was the wife of the product developer, Mrs. Otiobosa, who is visually impaired like the hubby
