Auchi Polytechnic Losses former Rector

A former Acting Rector of Auchi Polytechnic Auchi, Engr. Zubair Mustafa, has been reported dead.

The former Acting Rector was said to be hale and hearty when he went to Irrua specialist hospital at Irrua for medical check up on an undisclosed ailments where he later died.

His remains will be conveyed to Auchi for burial in accordance with Muslim rites.

The rector of the polytechnic , Dr S.S Umar in honor of the late rector directed that Wednesday, 5th of October be observe as Lecture and Work free day in the school.

The work and lecture free day notification was made through a statement signed by the school acting registrar, Mrs Eshiotse, F. I.

Until his appointment as acting rector, Zubair was the institution’s Deputy Rector in charge of Administration.

He holds a bachelors’ degree in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Ilorin and a masters’ degree in the same discipline at the Bayero University, Kano.

Late Engr. Zubair was a COREN registered Mechanical engineer; a corporate member of the Nigeria Society of Engineers and a member of the Nigeria Institute of Mechanical Engineers.

He had occupied several positions in the institution, including, Head Department of Mechanical Engineering, Dean of the School of Engineering, and Director of the Centre for Research, Innovation, and Development (CRID).

Engr. Zubair had to his credit more than 20 published articles and conference papers
