Auchi Allied honours Saliu Ahmed, others

In what appears to be a tonic for exemplary community service as well as serve as a reward for greater heights, five illustrious sons of the Auchi kingdom are among the recipient of highest service awards by the Auchi Allied Association

The triple-A, Auchi Allied Association, as it is called, is the umbrella body for all Auchi-based youth organizations.

Engr. Saliu Ahmed, the Managing Director of the Benin- Owena River Basin Development Authority (BORDA), was among the recipients.

The Auchi born APC stalwart was honoured with the Distinguished Outstanding Award (DOA) in recognition of the tremendous impact the BORDA Agency which he heads has had on the life of the people within its catchment area including opening a BORDA Area Office in Auchi as well as taking a front row seat in the provision of basic amenities such as Acess roads, water, drainages, modern farm settlements and so on.

Others are Prince Yusuf Asamah Kadiri (SAN), a consummate commercial lawyer and also a Prince of the notable Ikelebe ruling house of the Auchi sacred kingdom

Prince Yusuf bagged the Distinguished Meritorious Honours Award (DMHA)

Similarly, Bawa Muhammad, Dr. Maiza Ibrahim Mohammed, and CSP Jafaru Abdulai also cart home awards in various categories of community service

Bawa Muhammad, a business mogul and shrewd entrepreneur, was conferred with the Distinguished Humanitarian Service Award (DHSA)

CSP. Abdulai, a trained police officer, and Dr. Maiza Mohammed will each receive the Distinguished Vocational Award (DVA) and the Distinguished Outstanding Entrepreneurship Award (DOEA).

According to the organizers of the award, the idea behind the selection of the recipients is to rekindle the spirit of community service among the people

In addition, the selection process was rigorous but in the end, those chosen truly deserve to be rewarded and recognized as well for their uncommon contributions to the growth and development of the Auchi community
