The Edo State Commissioner for Oil and Gas, Hon. Andrew Momodu, gave a major boost to the APC chairmanship campaign at the flag-off in Anwain Community, canvassing massive support from his kinsmen for the party’s chairmanship candidate, Hon. Romeo Omoike, and his running mate, Isah Tijani, ahead of the scheduled local government election.
Hon. Momodu, an influential personality from Anwain, was on hand to receive the APC leadership, led by the Etsako West LGA Chairman, Mr. Ahmed Kurata.
The campaign team also paid a courtesy visit to the palace of the Ogie of Anwain, HRH Alhaji Mufutairu Oare, Aramah III of Anwain Kingdom.
Presenting his agenda to the crowd, Omoike said his administration would prioritize security by strengthening collaboration with the Nigeria Police, Edo State Security Network, local vigilantes, and other security agencies.
He also pledged to improve healthcare through the renovation and equipping of existing Primary Healthcare Centres and the construction of new facilities where necessary.
Omoike assured the people that his administration would be citizen-focused and would work closely with the Edo State Government to attract more development projects to communities across Etsako West.
The highlight of the event was the official presentation of the APC flag to the Ward 8 Councillorship candidate, Mr. Wilson Iluobe, by the Etsako West APC Chairman, Mr. Ahmed Kurata.
Dignitaries at the event included EDHA member Hon. Gani Akokhia; former Etsako West Council Chairman, Hon. Muhizu Marvelous; Hon. Mrs. Momodu; party executives; community leaders; women and youth groups; and other party stalwarts, as the APC intensified its campaign ahead of the local government polls.
