Dekeri Anamero Sunday recently crowned by delegates as the APC flag bearer for the Etsako federal House of Reps election during the party’s primary held at the Sports Centre of the Auchi Polytechnic, Auchi, Etsako West, has promised to be magnanimous in victory.

In a statement shortly after his declaration as winner of the hotly contested primary in which he emerged victorious in a seven -horse race which included the incumbent, Hon Dekeri, popularly called DANCO by his ardent supporters, said it is not in his character to underrate the competition, adding his victory at the primary was quite humbling and he is left with no option than to be magnanimous in victory.

The press statement was issued and signed on behalf of Hon Dekeri by Comrade Osemi Momodu, the Director of Campaign, Media and Communication of the Dekeri Campaign Organisation.

Hon Dekeri polled a total of 66 votes at the APC primary to defeat seven others, including the incumbent.

Coming a close second was Hon Richard Lamai, who scored 51 votes while the incumbent Hon Johnson Oghuma garnered a paltry 7 votes to place fifth. Hon Mohammed Bawa got 19 votes to place third while the man everyone tipped for the ticket, Hon Abubakar momoh finished fourth with a miserly 14 votes.

Still basking in the euphoria of his victory, Dekeri also spared some thoughts for the acknowledged leader of Edo North APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomole, who clinched the ticket to represent Edo North in the Senate.

He said, “I congratulate Comrade Adams Aliyu Oshiomole on his emergence as the standard-bearer of the APC in the Edo North race for the Senate.

” The overwhelming support you enjoy across the senatorial district is a good testimony of the high esteem you are held as well as the profound love the people have for you.

“In all modesty, I regard your emergence as a victory for democracy and I pray Almighty God crowns your effort with victory in the forthcoming general elections so you can continue to deliver quality service to our people”.

The shock wave occasioned by how Dekeri “snatched” victory at the APC primary against his more popular opponents still reverberates across the Etsako political landscape.
