Airhiavbere’s name missing from reconstituted NDDC Management board

By DADA AYOKHAI

A chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC), in Edo state, Gen Charles Airehiavere has been dropped as Director of Finance and Administration from the newly reconstituted board of Niger Delta development board NDDC .

The news of the replacement of Gen. Airhiavbere was contained in a press statement issued late Tuesday evening in Abuja by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Mr. Ajuri Ngelale .

Gen. Airhiavbere was replaced by a nominee from Rivers State .

Gen Aihiavbere replacement came barely a week after the elaborate Edo South APC leader’s meeting which he hosted to fine-tune strategies ahead of the September 2, local government election, Gen. Charles Airhiavbere .

In a strange twist of fate, the retired Army Director of Finance was one of the major casualties of the sweeping reforms carried out at the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC)

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu finally bowed to public outcry against the non-performance of the Commission and decided to reconstitute its board and management

. The news of his removal is a fatal blow to the APC family in the Edo South district .

The former NDDC Director of Finance was banking on a good outing for the APC at the LG poll to shore up the party fortune in the district.

Nevertheless, Edo State is still well represented on the board of the Commission.

Hon. Patrick Aisowieren, a former lawmaker who represented the Orhionmwon / Uhunmwonde federal constituency is the commissioner representing the state on the board.

Recall that President Tinubu not too long ago redeployed Hon. Abubakar Momoh from the Youth Ministry to the Niger Delta Ministry
