‎Dr. Blessing Agbomhere, former Chairman of the Edo State Ecological Fund and Management Commission, will formally indicate interest in contesting the Etsako Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives ahead of 2027 on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

‎Agbomhere, who hails from Fugar in Etsako Central LGA and also has a strong political base in neighbouring Etsako West LGA, is expected to formally declare his interest at the public field in Auchi, headquarters of Etsako West, on Saturday, April 25, 2026.

‎His declaration makes him the second aspirant from Etsako Central LGA seeking to wrest the APC ticket from incumbent Sunday Anamero of Etsako East, who is facing criticism over alleged non-performance and a strained relationship with party stakeholders.

‎According to Hon. Agbomhere’s invite, “The event will bring together stakeholders, party faithful, community leaders, youths, women, and supporters from across the constituency. It promises to be an inspiring gathering where Hon. Blessing Agbomhere’s vision, plans, and commitment will be clearly unveiled.”

‎Agbomhere’s aspiration is likely to enjoy strong acceptance within the APC compared to other aspirants, given his previous role as South-South Zonal Organizing Secretary and his key part in the election that brought in Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo.

‎An outspoken political strategist in Edo State, Agbomhere has held several party leadership positions and was a former governorship aspirant.

‎ A lawyer by training, he served as Director of Corporate, Inter-Governmental and Strategic Commerce for the African Bar Association.
‎He is also known as an advocate for youth empowerment and good governance.
