One of the most striking features of the recently held PDP senatorial rally in the two Owan local governments was high turnout of women who graced the occasion.
A source noted that most of the PDP leaders were trilled by the huge number of women at the rally.
The PDP in Owan axis and Edo North district has, in recent times, embarked on a non-stop campaign, during which it moved from one end of the senatorial district to the other, engaging with the people and also trying to woo the voters ahead of the February 25 presidential and national assembly election.
One of the notable personalities who stormed the rally with retinue of women is the Edo state Commissioner for Business, Trade and Co-operatives Hon Afie Braimoh
.
She stormed the rally venue with women from her home base Ihievbe and across Owan East LGA in a carnival-like fashion.
Her entrance, and swag displayed by the horde of women who accompanied her, swatched in beautiful attires, electrified the venue and added life to the event.
The carnival like display at the rally is a
proof and evidence of her being well rooted among the women folk and the people she represents at the state executive council.
Hon Braimoh also took time to address the youths who also attended the rally in their numbers on the importance of exercising their franchise during the election but also making PDP their first choice.
The rally which was meant to unify the two Owan local governments ahead of the forthcoming election was also attended by the state chairman of the party, Hon Tony Aziegbemi and leaders of the party across the state.
Hon Afie Braimoh is one of the hard-core technocrats in the cabinet of Gov Obaseki. Her competence and drive have indeed earned her admirers, especially for championing the growth of the local MSME’s, a major economic policy thrust of the Obaseki administration aimed at industrializing the state
