Without waiting for the euphoria surrounding his nomination as a minister to settle, Hon. Abubakar Momoh has begun to reach out to those who mattered the most within and outside his Edo North district.
His first port of call was the Abuja private residence of Senator Adams Oshiomhole, the senator representing the Edo North district in the Senate.
Accompanied by his wife, Hon. Momoh was at the Abuja residence of his fellow kinsman, Sen. Oshiomole, who also doubles as the APC leader in Edo State and who many believed played a key role in the nomination of the former two-term House of Representatives member as a minister.
Hon. Momoh and his wife were warmly received by the former comrade governor who is having his first baptism as a Senator.
The visit, though advertised as being private, is, however, loaded with political undertones. Political pundits point to the fact that given the former comrade governor’s political status in the Edo North district and even beyond, it was not out of place for Hon. Momoh to go personally to inform him about his ministerial nomination and to also obtain his blessing.
Meanwhile, an unusual frenzy of joy enveloped the entire Edo North district following the nomination of Hon. Abubakar Momoh as a minister.
How the former two-term member of the House of Representatives, former council chairman, former councilor, and former state assembly lawmaker made the list is still a subject of debate among political watchers. His name did not feature as a top contender, even once.
Nevertheless, the consensus is that he thoroughly deserves the ministerial slot.
Most pundits have started to set an agenda for the popular Etsako East politician, hoping he would surpass his predecessors in terms of deliverables.
