The Special Adviser to the Governor on Project Implementation and Monitoring, Engr. Phoebe Williams-Bello has embarked on a quarterly inspection tour of ongoing projects in Edo North and the other two senatorial districts of the state.
Projects inspected in Edo North include the construction of the Ikabigbo–Ekperi Road which links Etsako West and Etsako Central Local Government Areas. Ikabigbo is the hometown of the APC State Chairman.
Also inspected was the Idatto/Ikabigbo Gully Reclamation and Channelization Project.
The two projects in the Ikabigbo axis of Etsako West LGA were facilitated by the State Chairman of the ruling party, Jarrett Tenebe
In the Owan axis, the team monitored the reconstruction of the *Ujemen–Iguekpen–Ozalla–Sabongida-Ora–Afuze Road*, which cuts across Owan West and Owan East Local Government Areas.
Speaking with journalists during the inspection, Williams-Bello expressed satisfaction with the level and pace of work.
“I am satisfied with the level and pace of work on these strategic road projects. I commend the contractors for their commitment and urge them to continue delivering quality infrastructure in line with the vision of the Governor Monday Okpebholo administration,” she said.
She noted that the projects reflect the Okpebholo administration’s determination to ensure balanced and sustainable development across Edo State, adding that the government is committed to connecting communities and improving living conditions through modern road infrastructure.
The Permanent Secretary, Edo State Ministry of Works, Engr. John Obanor assured that the inspection team would continue to closely monitor all projects to ensure that technical observations and defects are promptly addressed.
According to him, the government will not compromise on quality, standards, and timely completion, stressing that effective monitoring is key to ensuring value for public funds.
