BENIN CITY – The Edo State Commissioner for Oil and Gas Resources, Hon. Andrew Momodu said the state government has awarded the contract for the construction of the dilapidated Ugbolo–Agbede–Ewu Road which is dear to the jagbe community in Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State.
He made the disclosure while receiving members of Jagbe Community under the umbrella of Jagbe Welfare Union who were on a courtesy visit to his office in Benin City.
The Commissioner appealed to the community and adjoining towns to remain patient, assuring that construction work will commence in due course.
While appreciating the visit, Hon. Momodu stressed the importance of unity, cooperation and collective responsibility in driving sustainable development.
He urged community leaders to place the overall interest of the people above personal interest, adding that meaningful progress can only be achieved through collaboration and a shared vision.
He reaffirmed his commitment to supporting Jagbe Community and called on residents to continue backing the administration of Governor Sen. Monday Okpebholo and the SHINE Agenda.
Earlier, Chief Braimah Abu, who spoke for the delegation, thanked the Commissioner for the warm reception.
He listed key challenges facing the community to include the poor state of the 15-kilometre Ugbolo–Agbede–Ewu Road, inadequate security infrastructure, and the need for improved educational facilities and other basic amenities.
Similarly, a member of the delegatíon Chief (Alh.) S. Ani commended the Commissioner for his assurances and pledged the community’s continued support for the Ministry’s programmes and the development agenda of the Edo State Government.
