‎In a message to mark the day, the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hon. Eugenia Abdallah, said the theme highlights the growing inequalities confronting families worldwide and their direct impact on the wellbeing, protection, education, and future of children.

‎She noted that addressing these disparities is critical to ensuring that every child in Edo State has access to a safe and supportive family environment that promotes growth and development.

‎The International Day of Families is observed annually on May 15 to raise awareness of the role of families in society and to promote policies that strengthen family welfare.

‎The Ministry further emphasizes that investing in families is an investment in national development. Strong families build strong communities and ultimately a stronger society.

‎The Edo State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development remains steadfast in its mandate to promote the welfare, dignity, and protection of families across the State.
