The Edo State Waste Management Board (EWMB) is set to increase charges for waste evacuation services in the state.
According to the Edo information ministry social media handle, the Managing Director of the board, Lucky Enehita-Inegbenehi, inaugurated a Tariff Review Technical Committee, which he chairs, to oversee the implementation of the proposed increase.

Enehita-Inegbenehi charged the committee to prioritize integrity and professionalism, emphasizing that the quality of their recommendations will determine the future of waste management financing in Edo State.
The initiative aims to ensure efficiency and sustainability in waste management services.
However, the proposed increase comes amidst public concerns over inflation and economic hardship.
