The Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Mrs. Eugenia Abdallah, has congratulated Governor Monday Okpebholo on winning the New Telegraph Governor of the Year (Education) award.
She praised the governor’s efforts in repositioning the education sector and strengthening human capital development .
Abdallah cited the governor’s investments in educational infrastructure, teacher development, and inclusive learning policies, saying it’s a testament to his visionary leadership and commitment to sustainable growth.
In a statement made available to journalists, Mrs. Abdallah described the award as a well-deserved honour and a testament to the Governor’s unwavering commitment to repositioning the education sector and strengthening human capital development in Nigeria.
According to the Commissioner, Governor Okpebholo’s strategic investments in educational infrastructure, teacher development, and inclusive learning policies have continued to distinguish Edo State as a shining example of purposeful leadership and progressive governance.

It is a proud achievement for the government and people of Edo State. The Governor’s dedication to expanding access to quality education particularly for girls, women, and vulnerable children reflects his deep commitment to sustainable growth and social transformation,”_ Mrs. Abdallah stated.
She further emphasized that the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development remains fully aligned with the Governor’s development agenda, especially in promoting girl-child education, women empowerment, and social protection initiatives across the state.
Mrs. Abdallah noted that the award serves as encouragement for the administration to sustain its transformative policies aimed at securing a brighter future for Edo children and strengthening the socio-economic foundation of the state.
The Ministry joined other stakeholders, partners, and well-meaning citizens in celebrating the Governor on the milestone achievement and wished him continued success in his service to Edo State and the nation at large.
